" This is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius..."
Back in 1969, The Fifth Dimension recorded that song. It was a theme song for the times of Flower Children and protests, providing a vision for a new, more peaceful and loving world. I have always been interested in the astrological viewpoint of things. As a spiritual seeker I looked for the deeper meaning and answers to my own unfolding mysteries. I recently came across an article by Astrobutterfly.com. It helped me to put an astrological framework around this intense time.. It seems we really are on the threshold of the Age of Aquarius. A Saturn transit in Aquarius began March 21st, 2020. It stays in that sign til July 1, 2020. Interesting timing, right? The very shut-down time of our society, for the most part. Symbolically, Saturn is a planet that stands for being the force of discipline, rules, restriction and responsibility. Aquarius's true nature as a sign is to be social, interconnected, and free. Can you see it? Restrictions on freedom and more... As I read on, the article revealed that eventually, following July 1,2020, after a few months of Saturn in Capricorn, where it is at home being ruler of that sign, things will seem a bit more "normal", but Saturn goes back to Aquarius on December 17, 2020 and stays there til March of 2023. Meanwhile, Jupiter and Saturn get together four days later, December 21, 2020, in Aquarius, bringing in higher values, which is supposed to facilitate an enormous shift in our society. Jupiter is the planet of generosity and luck. God knows we could use some! Have I lost you yet?
Long story short, We have been given a taste during this 3 month period. A hint, if you will, to a new way of how our society looks in the future. We have all had to go through awakenings and changes, and guess why? This is in preparation for a societal change to eventually take place. For me, these things come to mind: Out with the old, in with the new. Less is more now. There is a greater appreciation for connection as well as mindful responsibility in separation.. Caring for others as well as ourselves, very consciously. People are discovering their higher purpose, or another purpose. There is more charitability. The spotlight has shone on the darker sides of our nature, too, which exposes tragic circumstances, but offers the profound opportunity for self-reflection and accountability. No wonder it takes 50 years for an age to come in and take hold! We have a lot of work to do. Back in 1969, we were throwing away all the rules and grasping at peace, love and freedom. We have now come to a new place, working on the deeper layers, where those qualities are more grounded in reality. Maybe we have a new found respect for the necessary rules for a healthy society in order to have a more peaceful, loving world. Just as important is a newfound awareness of abuses of power giving way to losing our tolerance for it. Accountability is a good word! It represents the healing that can come from these planetary influences right now and installing a critical societal component in our future. Are you ready? What part of you is? What part of you isn't? ...."When the moon is in the 7th house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then Peace will guide the planets, and Love will steer the stars."
